Our lightweight Kimono for men are a modern take on the classic Japanese robe. Crafted from fine cotton and printed with beautiful designs in Kyoto, they’re fun replacement for your tatty old dressing gown! These Japanese Kimono are relaxed, comfortable and easy to care for. On this page you’ll find two variations of Kimono: calf length Happi Coats, and ankle length Yukata.

About Our Kimono

A refined take on the traditional Japanese robe. Designed and made in Kyoto, Japan and inspired by classic Yukata and Happi Coat robes, our male kimono blends cultural heritage with modern practicality.

Whether you’re pottering around the house or enjoying a spa day our male kimono offer curious alternative to bog-standard dressing gowns and bathrobes. Compact and travel-ready, these Kimono fold to a small footprint and are perfect for holidays, business trips and everyday lounging. You’ll never want to touch a hotel dressing gown again!

 

Crafted from lightweight cotton or slightly heavier broadcloth, our Kimono for men are easy to care for and ideal for year-round wear. Wide sleeves can double as pockets on our Yukata, while our shorter Happi Coats include a single front pocket -perfect for your phone. Every Japanese dressing gown comes with a matching belt sewn into the sleeve on delivery.

To honour Japanese tradition, wrap the left side over the right. Right over left is reserved for the recently deceased!

Our Yukata and XL Kimono pair particularly well with a traditional Obi, available in red, black or navy.

Also consider our Jinbei (Hippari) sets. These two-piece pyjamas feature a relaxed kimono-style jacket and knee-length shorts – ideal for warm summer evenings or restful sleep alike.
